Vector Control

Activities to control vectors in airports are carried out by the Brazilian Sanitary Surveillance Agency, with technical and normative guidance from the Ministry of Health, in accordance with paragraph 4, Article 2 of Resolution No. 1, of April 26, 1999.

ANVISA activities comprise:

  • Supervising fumigation of the aircraft - pre and post flight;
  • Locating and apprehending vectors;
  • Sending arthropods to the entomology laboratory for species identification;
  • Anti - arthropod measures;
  • Anti-rodent measures ;
  • Inspections of airport premises;
  • Inspections of cargo-holds of aircraft.
