SANITIZING
PRODUCTS:
Substances or preparations for use in cleaning, disinfection and fumigation
within the home, in public or shared environments and in premises where
people normally congregate. Also used for treating water. They comprise
the following:
DETERGENTS AND BY-PRODUCTS - substances
for cleaning and conservation of inanimate surfaces. These include:
Detergents, Whiteners, Fabric Softeners, Anti-Corrosion Products, Polishes,
Acid or Alkaline Scouring Products, Furniture Cleaners, Plastics Cleaners,
Tyre Cleaners, Window Cleaning Products, Shoe Polishes, Polish for Metal
Surfaces, Stain Removers, Soap-based Foaming Products, Soaps.
WHITENERS - any substance with a chemical,
oxidant or reducing action which has a whitening effect on materials.
DISINFECTANTS - formulations with germicidal
substances in their composition which have a lethal effect on none-sporulating
micro-organisms. They consist of products for general use, for the food
industry, for swimming pools, dairies, hospitals (for fixed surfaces)
and semi-critical hospital uses.
DEODORANTS - formulations with microbiostatic
substances in their composition capable of controlling bad odors arising
from micro-organic metabolism. They do not have a lethal effect on micro-organisms
but serve to inhibit growth and multiplication of the same. The range
of products includes environmental air fresheners, and deodorizers.
For use on sanitary equipment and similar.
STERILIZES - formulations with microbicide
substances in their composition which have a lethal effect on sporulating
and none- sporulating micro-organisms.
ALGAECIDES FOR SWIMMING POOLS - substances
used to kill algae
FUNGICIDES FOR SWIMMING POOLS - substances
or products for killing all types of fungi
DRINKING WATER DISINFECTANT - a substance
for disinfecting drinking water
BLEACHES- aqueous solutions based on sodium
or calcium hydrochloride, with an active level of chlorine of between
2% and 2.5% during its shelf life (maximum 6 months).The product may
contain sodium or calcium hydrochloride, sodium or calcium chlorate
and carbonate of soda or calcium as a stabilizer. Can be used as a whitener
and also as a disinfectant for general use.
BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS - products based on
micro-organisms used for treating septic systems and sewage-carrying
pipes. Also used in other places to break up organic material and reduce
odors.
INSECTICIDES - products for use in homes
and their common areas, inside building premises, public and common
premises and buildings, for controlling insects and other pests which
can potentially cause harm to health.
ANTI-RODENT PRODUCTS - products for use
in homes and their adjacent areas, inside public buildings and other
communal premises, for vermin control.
AMATEUR GARDENING PRODUCTS - for use in
gardens or on ornamental plants, cultivated for none-profit recreational
purposes, for controlling pests and plant diseases, as well as those
products used for reviving and improving the appearance of plants.
REPELLENTS - are products which have a
repellent action on insects. For application on inanimate surfaces and
for spraying in most types of environment, permitting retarded and continuous
discharge of the active ingredient or ingredients by use of electric
energy or by spontaneous means.
